I am Born of God and the Evil One Cannot Touch Me

I am secure...In Christ, I am totally secure; I renounce the lie that I am guilty, unprotected, alone or abandoned. I am free from any condemnation brought against me I am hidden with Christ in God. I am born of God and the evil one cannot touch me.

1 John 5:18;  We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him]. AMP

We walk in God’s grace as born again believers. Our old sinful nature has been put to death with Christ at the Cross and we can now freely choose to live for God. We may stumble and when we do we have forgiveness and cleansing according to 1John 1:9 but we do not live a life where we practice and continually commit sin.

1 John 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. AMP

What a joy to be able to choose to live a life that pleases God which we could not do when our very nature was bound in sin before we came to Christ.

Col 1:13-14 [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins. AMP

If we commit a sin we are tempted to beat ourselves up and not remember that we can have forgiveness and cleansing. What we need to do is remember that the kingdom of darkness’s hold on us has been broken and we are now free to choose to live for God.

So be encouraged and us this knowledge to help you choose life when you are tempted to live as if you had no choice!
