Metaphor: The Council of the Upright Ps 111:1 PRAISE THE Lord! (Hallelujah!) I will praise and give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart in the council of the upright and in the congregation. AMP
The ways of the upright are seen in a lifestyle which agrees with God’s uprightness or a life in line with His precepts and ways. Relationship with God comes about as we seek Him out and seek to live act and think in accord with His ways as proclaimed in His word.
Enoch was an example of someone who pleased God and would be included in the council of the upright.
Gen 5:22-24 Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God after the birth of Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were 365 years. And Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God; and he was not, for God took him [home with Him]. [Heb 11:5.] AMP
You and I are included in the Council of the Upright because of the shed blood of the lamb, His resurrection from the dead and our faith in Him which has transferred us from the Kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the Son Col 1:13-14. Today we live and breathe and have our life in Him and by Him are called the Council or assembly of the upright.
