God Calls Us Holy People

Metaphor: Holy people
Concept:  Being a people marked by a life of holiness, which is a life where moral and ethical wholeness is a high priority seems odd in the day we live in. Even in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah God was looking for a people who would strive to be morally whole.
Eph 5:3 But immorality (sexual vice) and all impurity [of lustful, rich, wasteful living] or greediness must not even be named among you, as is fitting and proper among saints (God's consecrated people). AMP
2 Thess 1:10 When He comes to be glorified in His saints [on that day He will be made more glorious in His consecrated people], and [He will] be marveled at and admired [in His glory reflected] in all who have believed [who have adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him], because our witnessing among you was confidently accepted and believed [and confirmed in your lives]. AMP

God’s people cannot be perfect while in the body of flesh. Now as long as we are in the fleshly body with its desires and weaknesses or flesh wars against our spirit man. Thank God we have God’s grace and a way of escape as well as His forgiveness and cleansing.

But we must seek to encourage each other by our lives to live a life pleasing to God. There is strength in knowing that many others fight the same fight we do and that they can assist us when times get tough and we get weak. We also have the Word and His Spirit to strengthen us.

Today by the blood of the lamb and His resurrection from the dead we have His holy nature within us, therefore let us live accordingly.
