God Calls You Church

Metaphor: Church               Concept:  Our word Church comes from the word ‎ekklesia appears in the Greek text where this word is found in the translations. ‎Ekklesia comes from ‎kaleo "to call," and ‎ek "out from."
Matt 16:18-19 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matt 18:17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
Acts 5:11 Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.
Eph 1:22-23 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Eph 3:10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
Eph 3:21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
Col 1:24-25 Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. NIV

The definition of church continued.
The compound verb means "to call out from." In classical Greek ‎ekklesia referred to an assembly of the citizens summoned by the town crier. It is used in Acts 19:32-41 in its purely classical meaning. The town clerk dismissed the citizens who had been gathered together by the craftsmen of Ephesus. In its every other occurrence, it is translated "church," the church being looked upon as a called-out body of people, called out of the world of unsaved humanity to become the people of God. The word refers either to the Mystical Body of Christ made up of saved individuals only (Ephesians), or to the local churches, as for instance Rom 16:5; Gal 1:2. The word "assembly" is a good one-word translation of ‎ekklesia. The genius of the word points to the fact that in the mind of God, the Church of Jesus Christ is a called-out group of people, separated out from the world to be a people that should maintain their separation from the world out of which they have been called.
(from Wuest's Word Studies from the Greek New Testament

The church is called out from the world to live a life in God but it is also called to the world to fulfill Jesus’ great commission to go and make disciples of all people groups and nations.

We the followers of Jesus are His church, we meet in many places and have many local organizational names but we are all called to live for Him and to do all that He began to do and teach according to Acts 1:1

If we are making disciples and doing all that He began to do and teach as a part of the local community of believers or church than we shall hear Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant enter into my rest.”

Making disciples begins with us as individuals. So we might first ask ourselves if we are becoming His disciples daily.  If we are then we are also becoming the church.
