Metaphor: Chosen OnesLuke 18:7 And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf? AMP
Today we live in a world of over statements and hype. To be considered a Chosen one in our culture might mean that you got to appear of a TV series or had some other form of a ’15 minutes of fame’ but in the Bible when it says you are among the chosen Ones it is really and truly a big deal.
Luke 18:7 is about more however than just being chosen. It is about the care God has for His chosen Ones. It portrays a God who is alert and willing to come to our assistance and is poised to do battle on our behalf. Clearly He will not delay to respond when we are in need. We may not see Him working at first but we can rest assured that He is working on our behalf and responding to our cry.
What an awe inspiring thing it is to know that the creator and sustainer of all that exist is working on our behalf and that He is never late or delayed in His response.
